Hello my dear blog readers.
The first quarter of 2011 is gone and I thought it would be nice to share some Google Analytics Traffic statistics from my blog with you guys. The following stats are from January 1 to March 31. (First quarter of 2011)
Traffic in Q1 2011
Let me start to tell that I don’t have 1000 of visitors coming to my blog each day mainly because my blog has not been around for that long. After all I do see an increase in visitors month after month so that is just great. In this first quarter of 2011 I have read that the Bing Search engine has taken over Yahoo’s position as number 2 overall search engine on the Internet. Well in my case Yahoo is still a lot in front of Yahoo, but it may of cause change in Q2 of 2011. Here you can see some of my traffic stats for the first 3 months of 2011:

5. Canada
6. China

Well this was pretty much all from me today, but before I leave I would like to ask you 2 questions about your stats. Hope you will share a little with me too 🙂
- What is your top 3 Search Engines that give you the most traffic?
- What is your top 3 Referring Sites that give you the most traffic?
Stats are always an interesting read, it’s great to see that Google is producing a good bit of traffic to your site, I always like to think that if your top referring search engine is Google then you’re certainly doing something right 😉
Hi Karen
Welcome to my blog. Always nice with some new faces in here and you really is a great looking girl 😀
I am very happy that Google is producing a lot of traffic to my blog. With a WordPress blog and a good sitemap it is actually not that hard to do. The hard part is to get better page ranking on Google. That is where the hard work begins, but well I started this blog in late November 2010 so I think that time is my friend in this matter as well as hard work of cause.
Thank you very much for dropping by.
Your first quarter stats is good, let’s increase the traffic from search engine, which will helpful for you.
Wow…Amazing stats !! BTW I managed to draw traffic from Google and SU, the most
Google has always been my biggest search referrer, but I’ve been amazed at how much traffic has come from Bing lately. My Bing traffic is actually higher than my Yahoo traffic (and I see that you have the complete opposite).
Hey Thomas,
Baring the soul for us my friend. Good for you…
Okay, my top 3 search engines of course starts with Google. Then behind that are Bing and Yahoo. Was surprised to see Bing above Yahoo. Nice….
My top 3 referring sites are Facebook, YouTube and Twitter… Let’s get social my friends. It definitely pays off.
I will also say that my traffic started increasing once I became more social online. Before I was just doing my thing trying to drive traffic to my site but once I started commenting on other blogs and people were sharing my information, the traffic really started picking up. It’s a beautiful thing.
Before I sign off Thomas, thank you for referring Allyson to my blog. That was very thoughtful of you and I appreciate it. Sincerely, I do…
Hope you are having the best day ever and I appreciate you sharing your stats with us…
Adrienne
Hi, Thomas
Thanks for sharing the details about your Google analytics. It’s exciting to see the power of the Internet and how it links people from all over the world.
Like you, my blog is relatively new, about 3 months old. My top referring sites are Google and Ask.
Keep up the great work!
BTW, as I was about to post my comment, I just saw Adrienne’s note. Hey, Adrienne. Yes, thanks indeed, Thomas.
Hi Allyson
I just checked my stats on ask.com I have not had any traffic from ask since December 2010 🙁 I think I will take a look on that issue right away. Thanks for sharing and visiting my blog.
Hi Thomas,
I actually don’t look at my stats that often, but I really should. As you’re saying, you can get a lot of valuable information.
What I look at, when I look at my stats, are usually which blog posts are the most popular and I try to analyze why they are the most popular, and I also look at the bounce rate (and try to fix it), and I also look at referring sites.
It’s interesting to see that most of your readers are from Denmark, although you are writing in English. Is it because of most of your marketing is focused in Denmark or because you have a dk domain? Most of my readers are from the US, although I am Norwegian (but I am writing in English and have a com domain).
Google, Yahoo, Bing are the top referring search engines, and Facebook is by far the top referring site, and Twitter as number 2 🙂
Hi Jens
Nice to see you here at my blog.
I think that the fact that my domain is a .dk domain might have something to do with that I get most traffic from Denmark. Another fact is that I started out promoted my blog in some Danish forums like WordPress.dk. However I do see a change in this trend. In January 79% of my traffic was from Denmark. In April it is only 55%. The US is starting to catch up for sure and that is great news for my blog. India is actually coming in third 🙂
India in third place, that’s interesting. I’m not sure, but I believe India is high up at my blog as well 🙂
Hi Thomas, interesting statistics you have there, and 44% for search traffic, that’s pretty good, so your seo is working well 🙂
As for my statistics, i don’t actually know about my top referrers etc; i don’t record any visitor stats anymore as I’m not too worried about it, the only thing i do notice nowadays is the alexa of my blog because it appears in my browser toolbar, otherwise i don’t pay much attention to analytic’s. There’s heaps of valuable information, so i really should start.
Hi Peter
Thank you for the comment.
I think there is a lot we can learn from statistics on our blogs and with a tool like Google Analytics there is so many information available.
I find that most of my blog’s traffic comes straight from Google; I’m barely a blip on the radar for other search engines in comparison.
Most of my readers are US-based, then Britain, then Canada.
I’m not one of your IE stats… Google Chrome all the way. 😉
Hi Angie
Thank you for visiting my blog Angie. I am also pretty happy that Yahoo and Bing can find my blog as well 🙂 Maybe you should take a look at Bing webmaster tools and Yahoo Site Explorer to make them aware of your blog.
really u r blog stat is so nice…
keep it man…….
Hi
I am happy about the percentice, but I still could use more traffic overall, but I am slowly improving that 🙂
Saw your first guest post on comluv and wandered over here! You have quite a nice balance of visitors there – my own stats are very google heavy – about 84% when I last looked. I’m really trying to work on increasing referrals from social network sites, but finding it a fun challenge! I have a couple of posts on my site that google really likes and it brings in tonnes of visitors – add them up and between them there’s more visitors than to the sum total of the rest of my site!
Hi Dan
Nice to have you here and great that my guest post are sending me some new visitors to my own blog 🙂
84% Google that is pretty good. You might have done some SEO right then. I have one article that Yahoo like a lot that are sending me a lot of traffic. Google don’t seem to link that post, but as you can see Google still is my number one.
So it’s just that one article that Yahoo likes? I’ve got a new definition for “epic post,” Thomas. 🙂 I can’t Yahoo to send me more than one visitor a week.
My hits from Yahoo for sure have dropped a lot the last couple of week. I used to add all my new posts to their Index, but that is not possible anymore. I expect to publish my Analytics Stats for Q3 2011 this weekend. Maybe even today 🙂
