Microsoft just earlier this week, confirmed that OneNote 2013 is now available for free. Not just is it free for Windows users, it is in fact available and free for every major desktop and mobile platform, including Mac. You can download your own free copy from onenote.com It is a totally ad-free version and it is not just a trial version it is the real stuff you can use as long as you like. OneNote was first released back in 2003 and it has just been improved over and over again for the last 10 years. Now that Microsoft OneNote is free for all it might be a good alternative for Evernote that you might be familiar with already.
What is OneNote?
OneNote is a digital notebook that is part of the Microsoft Office Suite, but now also is available for free as a stand alone program. It is great if you want to save your notes, screenshots, ideas, pictures and other stuff in one simple easy to use notebook for you to bring with you wherever you go. No need for paper blocks and post its that you need to reorganize all the time. If you save it all in OneNote you have it all saved in one place and most important it is search able. You can even search text in picture if you want to.

One great thing about OneNote is that it is now available on almost all devices you might own. Including:
- Windows Desktop computers
- Web version
- Windows Phones
- Android Phones
- iPhones
- iPad
- MAC Computers
Your data will be saved on Microsoft OneDrive (Formerly known as SkyDrive) making it available from wherever you are on whatever device you have with you. All new users on OneDrive will get 7 GB of free storage. I guess that should be more than enough for most people. You can find more information about OneNote on the official Website: OneNote.com
