In this post I will share some tips on how you can prepare for the Microsoft Azure AZ-900 Exam and hopefully succeed at your own exam.
How to prepare for AZ-900 Azure Exam
If you want to be good at Microsoft Azure, the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 might be the right place to start. This will give you a great foundation to exploring the great power of Microsoft Azure. This will also give you good base for you, to build on, if you want to specialize in Microsoft Azure. It could be the Microsoft Azure Administrator or AZ-140 Configuring and Operating Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop.
My own Experience with Microsoft Azure AZ-900
I just recently passed the AZ-900 exam in first try. I got a score of 810/1000 🙂 The passing score for this exam is 700. About 2 months before my test, I took part in a 2 days Instructor-led courses for this exam. Other than that, I believe I had prepared myself very well for this exam, but there were still a few questions that surprised me. Here is a couple of examples from my test as I recall:
- Which OSI layer is Azure ExpressRoute operating on? Layer 2, Layer 3, Layer 5 or Layer 7.
- The correct answer is Level 3.
- What technology can you use to transfer very large date to Azure (Tera or even Petabytes)?
- The correct answer is Azure Data Box
- Is it possible to merge two Azure Subscriptions into one Subscription
- The answer to that is no, that is not possible.
- There was also a question about Azure in China and who is operating Azure in China.
- To my knowledge Microsoft Azure is a special region operated by a company named 21Vianet. You might want to prepare for that question too.
Besides that, there was some questions about Azure Virtual Desktop, that I was not prepared on. Questions about limitations, deployment and more. Check out the video in the bottom of this post. Once thing you can be sure you will be tested in is the Cloud service models: IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. Make sure you are prepared for these questions.
