8 Great shortcuts for Excel

Below you find 8 easy shortcut that every Excel user should now about:

1. Edit selected cell

No need to reach out for the mouse when you want to edit a cell. Just press F2 and you can change the value of a cell.

2. Insert Total Sum

Select the cells you want to sum up, then select the cell you want the result to be displayed and press Alt + =

3. Select Entire Row

Select the entire row of a sheet by pressing: Shift + Space

4. Select Entire Column

Select the entire column of a sheet by pressing: Ctrl + Space

5. Hide a Row

Hide a row in a sheet by pressing: Ctrl + 9

6. Hide a Column

Hide a column of a sheet by pressing: Ctrl + 0

7. Start a New Line in a Cell

Sometimes you need to add an extra line to a cell. If you just press enter like you normally would to the curser drops to the column below. Instead press Alt + Enter. That will allow you to enter in an additional line in the same cell

8. Autosum selected cells

Sum selected cells with this simple shortcut by pressing: Alt + = The combination works on both columns and rows.

  1. I think another handy feature in Excel is the replicate option at the bottom right of each cell.
    I like to highlight whole rows and they replicate, as well as link to the new corresponding rows.
