Review of Philips Hue Filament E27 Globe

I just got myself another Philips Hue product. This time I Got the Filament E27 Globe bulbs. In fact, I got two of them and I have written this little review of my experiences with the product.

Philips Hue Filament E27 Globe

The Philips Hue Filament E27 Globe, is an impressive bulb with its 150mm height and 95mm wide is quite a big bulb. It gives a nice warm light that is great for the dark winter evenings. The light can be dimmed if you are going to watch TV or a good movie. The bulb can be controlled easily from an app on your phone and you don’t need to buy a Philips Hue bridge in order to do that, because this bulb can be controlled directly via Bluetooth. You can buy just one bulb or you can put multiple bulbs next to each other to get a more elegant look depending on what you want and what room you have to light up.

Controlling the Filament E27 Globe

The light of the Filament bulb can be controlled in multiple ways. I you already have a Philips Hue Bridge you would properly control it via the Philips Hue app, that you use to control your other devices with or using one of the dimmer switch that can be bought separately. If this is the only Philips Hue product you have, you can download the Philips Hue Bluetooth app that is available for both Android and Apple devices. With this app you can control the light of the bulb via Bluetooth.

Controlling with Voice commands

Another option for you to control your new bulb, is by your voice. The Filament E27 have support for both Apple Home Kit, Alexa and Google Assistant voice control. Check out how to configure Google Assistant for Philips Hue devices.
